Welcome to OurCircles! Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting the information you share with us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use collaboration-centric short video sharing social media mobile app, "OurCircles" (the "App").
We may collect the following types of information:
1.1 Information You Provide
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, username, profile picture, date of birth, and location.
Content: Any videos you upload, including video comments, reactions and views, contributions to Circles, Bubbles or Collaborative Live Streams.
Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support or other inquiries.
Profile and Connection Preferences: Information about your profile settings, such as whether your profile is Public or Private, and the Connections including Fans you make within the App.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
Usage Data: Details about your interactions with the App, such as the videos you watch, the people you follow, and the features you use.
Device Information: Information about your device, such as device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and network information.
Location Data: Approximate location information based on your IP address or device settings.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We may use cookies and similar technologies to track your activity on the App and improve your experience.
1.3 Information From Third Parties
We may receive information from third-party services, such as social media platforms, if you choose to link your account with them.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the App.
Personalize your experience and recommend content.
Facilitate social interactions and enable features like connecting, following, reacting, and reflecting.
Manage and support additional features, such as Circles, Anecdotes, Reflections, Squads, Groups, Happenings including Events and Celebrations, Attractions, Connection Groups, Bubbles, Balloons, Focus, and Prime (The Collaborative Scheduled Live Streaming).
Communicate with you about your account, updates, and promotional content (with your consent).
Ensure the security and integrity of the App.
Comply with legal obligations.
Users can choose to make their profiles public or private, allowing for greater control over who can view their information and interact with them. Connections on the App are based on user discretion, including who can be followed.
3.2 CirclesCircles are the core of OurCircles. They can be posted on a user’s profile, Squad, Groups, Happenings (Events and Celebrations), or Attractions. Each Circle is initiated by a user, who decides:
The Circle’s Title, Focus (single hashtag), and Category.
Who can View or Contribute to the Circle.
The maximum number of Contributions allowed.
Whether the Circle will be Permanent or Temporary.
Contributors, including the initiator, cannot make consecutive contributions to the same Circle. The initiator also controls who can view the Circle and the nature of the contributions allowed, ensuring a curated experience tailored to their preferences.
3.3 AnecdotesAn Anecdote is a personal short video story where only you can contribute. It is created in one sitting, with each part recorded within a maximum five-minute gap. The complete Anecdote cannot exceed five minutes in total. You can share Anecdotes in your Profile, or within Groups, Events, Celebrations, or Attractions.
3.4 ReflectionsReflections are short video replies, up to 30 seconds, to someone’s contribution in a Circle or an Anecdote. They can only be recorded, never uploaded.
3.5 SquadsSquads are public profiles that can be managed by multiple users under a shared name. Information shared within Squads is subject to the collective discretion of its members and the privacy settings they choose.
3.6 GroupsGroups can be public or private. In public groups, all members can view and interact with shared content, whereas private groups restrict access to approved members only. Users can choose the nature of their participation in groups based on their content-sharing preferences.
3.7 Connection GroupsUsers can create and manage Connection Groups to easily share content with a specific list of users. These groups allow users to repeatedly share content with the same list without disclosing the identities of other recipients. The privacy of Connection Groups ensures that recipients cannot see who else is included in the group or has access to the shared content.
3.8 HappeningsHappenings include Events (which can be public or private) and Celebrations (which are always public). The privacy settings for Events allow you to control who can view or participate in them. These features ensure tailored visibility for your content based on the context and audience you wish to engage.
3.9 AttractionsAttractions include "Near Me" and "Global" categories, which are always public. Content shared in Attractions is visible to all users based on geographic or global reach, allowing for widespread visibility of public content.
3.10 BubblesBubbles provide a unique collaborative one-on-one experience. A user can send one Bubble to a connection and must wait for a response before sending another Bubble to the same connection. This ensures meaningful and deliberate interaction between users, enabling thoughtful and respectful communication.
3.11 BalloonsA feature for sharing Circles internally within the app. When shared by multiple people, it appears as a single Balloon listing contributors' names. Balloons vanish after viewing unless pinned; popular public Balloons appear in “Most Shared Balloons.
3.12 Prime (Scheduled Collaborative Live Streaming)Users can schedule Collaborative Live Streaming sessions, which can be viewed and contributed to by others based on the session’s privacy settings. Contributions and participation in live streams are visible to all authorized participants. These sessions allow for dynamic interaction and content-sharing in real-time. All Live Streaming sessions are recorded and stored with limited access to the Host.
We may share your information in the following ways:
4.1 With Other UsersContent you share, such as videos in Circles, Anecdotes, Reflections, Profile information, and activity in features like Squads, Groups, Connection Groups, Happenings, Attractions, and Balloons may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings.
We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including but not limited to Authentication, Hosting, Analytics, and Payment processing.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or if we believe such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or ensure the safety of our users.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
You have the following rights regarding your information:
Access and Update: You can view and update your account information through the App. You are allowed to update your name, profile picture, bio, preferences, and other details at any time. However, your email address and location (captured during registration) cannot be changed for security and verification purposes.
Delete Your Account: You can delete your account at any time. Please note that some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Opt-Out: You can opt out of receiving promotional communications by following the instructions in those messages.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
OurCircles is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it in compliance with Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA).
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries with different data protection laws than your country of residence.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the App and updating the "Effective Date." Your continued use of the App after such updates constitutes your agreement to the revised Privacy Policy.
